The story
Nine episodes: islands, contested ground, a case file, a coastline, a nest, a stranger, a nemesis and a rescuer on the wrong side. And through all of it, one account the family could never settle. Sluggie.
But the account is not entirely one-sided. Imminent Tass catches Sluggie with a pistol. Sluggie takes two of the family in a stairwell, and Impending Fate takes Sluggie. On another night Imminent Tass fires twice: the first shot takes Pandemic, the second takes Sluggie. Our guide lands one of his own, a grenade and a name in the kill feed he has waited all season to see.
CollegeFuture is not immortal either. Our guide collects him from the ground; Elderlan answers when CollegeFuture claims our guide once more; and once, from an armoured vehicle, our guide takes both nemeses in the same breath.
And then, on Operation Metro, in a crowded tunnel, with nothing but a knife, comes the moment the whole season has been waiting for. The family wins the round. Sluggie's record against them is no longer perfect. They were never the best squad on any server, but across nine episodes, win or lose, they were always, unmistakably, heroes.
